Privacy Policy
1. Who controls your information
www.dragqueens.co.uk (Drag Queen Agency Platform) is the platform through which personal data is processed. The business operating the platform is the controller for personal data processed through www.dragqueens.co.uk and its customer, performer and venue platform, except where a third party is independently responsible for its own processing. Founder and developer: Alex Ryan. Contact us at customercare@dragqueens.co.uk.
2. Information we collect
For customers and enquiries: names, email addresses, telephone numbers, event type, event date/time, approximate guest numbers, entertainment interests, budgets, package selections, venue/town/city and any optional detailed address or special requirements.
For accounts and bookings: unique Customer ID, booking references, password hashes and security records, account status, quotes, shortlisted performers, chosen packages and extras, contracts, invoices, payments and messages. We do not need your password in plain text.
For performers: legal and stage names, professional contact details, biography, location, profile media, social links, availability, technical riders, insurance/compliance details, roster and subscription information and booking history. For venues: company contacts, location, facilities, logistics and invoicing information.
For website use: IP address, browser/device data, session identifiers, cookies, access/security logs and technical diagnostics. Payment providers may collect additional payment and identity information directly.
3. Where the information comes from
We obtain information from your forms, account activity, communications, payments and uploaded materials; from customers, performers or venues organising a booking; and from our technical service providers. We may also receive professional profile details or business contact information from public sources or referrals where lawful.
4. Why we process it and our legal bases
Contract or steps before a contract: handling enquiries, preparing quotes, registering accounts, managing bookings, contracts, payments, invoices and customer support.
Legitimate interests: operating and improving the platform, preventing fraud, securing accounts, managing customer relationships and handling disputes, balanced against individuals' rights.
Legal obligations: accounting, tax, regulatory compliance and responding to lawful requests.
Consent or another lawful marketing basis: optional promotional communications and non-essential cookies where required. You can withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing.
5. Automated quotations and recommendations
Our Smart Quote Engine can evaluate event type, requested entertainment, duration, guest numbers, budget and current package rules to recommend packages or refer an enquiry for manual review. Recommendations are offers to consider, not automatic acceptance of a booking. You may ask us to review an unsuitable or incorrect quote.
Our automated quotation recommendations do not make decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on individuals. We do not use other customer profiling. Customers may review available options and request assistance or a manual review of a recommendation.
6. Who receives information
We may share the information needed to arrange an event with suitable or assigned performers, venues and relevant organisers; with payment and communications providers; with website hosting, security and technical service providers; and with professional advisers or authorities where lawfully necessary.
Our platform uses website hosting and form services, secure cloud-based data storage and backend processing services, transactional email providers and payment processing services. We use relevant third-party providers to deliver these functions. Performers or payment providers may act as separate controllers for some activities.
We do not sell customer information to data brokers.
7. Payments, communications and dashboards
Stripe may process payment and transaction information under its own privacy notice. Our records generally include payment status, transaction identifiers, amounts and booking balances, not complete payment-card security details.
Account activation, password resets, quote notices, invoices and booking messages are service communications. Marketing messages are managed separately. Dashboard records may show booking references, performer assignments, agreements and communications relevant to your account.
8. Cookies and website tracking
Essential cookies and similar technologies may be used for login, sessions, security and checkout. Analytics or advertising technologies, if installed, will be described and managed according to applicable consent requirements.
9. UK platform access and international processing
Access to our platform services is intended for users in the United Kingdom, and we do not authorise access from outside the UK. However, some of our technology, communications and payment providers may process or access personal information from other countries as part of providing their services. Where international transfers occur, we take steps to ensure that appropriate protections required by UK data protection law apply. You may contact us for further information about relevant safeguards.
10. Security
We use proportionate security measures including access restrictions, account verification, secure password handling, encrypted connections where supported and monitoring for misuse. No system can be guaranteed completely secure. Please notify us promptly of suspected unauthorised account access.
11. Retention
Our standard retention period is 365 days for personal information relating to enquiries, inactive accounts, routine communications and security records, measured from the last relevant activity or closure of the matter, unless it is needed for an active booking, account, dispute or another legitimate purpose. Booking, transaction, invoice and tax records may need to be retained for longer where required by applicable law or necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. We delete or anonymise personal information when it is no longer required.
12. Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability or object to processing, including direct marketing. You may withdraw consent where it is the legal basis. You may also have rights relating to certain solely automated decisions. Contact customercare@dragqueens.co.uk; we may verify identity before responding.
You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
13. Children and sensitive information
The booking and performer-account services are intended for adult customers and professionals. Please avoid providing unnecessary personal information about children or sensitive personal details in event notes. If we need special-category information for a legitimate reason, we will identify and apply an appropriate legal condition.
14. Changes and contact
We will update this notice when our processing materially changes and provide appropriate notice. The latest version will appear here. Contact: www.dragqueens.co.uk — customercare@dragqueens.co.uk.
