Drag Queens Agency (Roka Entertainment & Management Ltd) Cancellation Policy

This cancellation policy applies to all bookings made with Drag Queens Agency (operated by Roka Entertainment & Management Ltd, company registration 14412022) for drag queen entertainment services.

We understand that plans can change, so this policy outlines your rights and our procedures for cancelling a booking.

Your Cancellation Rights under UK Consumer Law

Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you have a 14-day cooling-off period from the day you book a service (excluding the day of booking) to cancel your booking and receive a full refund.  

Exceptions to the Cooling-Off Period

There are some exceptions where the 14-day cooling-off period may not apply:

  • Bespoke Performances: If you have booked a bespoke performance tailored specifically to your needs, the cooling-off period may not apply. However, we will discuss cancellation terms with you clearly before confirming the booking.
  • Events Less Than 14 Days Away: If your event is less than 14 days away from the booking date, the cooling-off period may not apply.
  • Corporate Bookings: Please see the specific terms for corporate bookings below.

How to Cancel Your Booking

To cancel your booking, you must clearly communicate your intention to cancel in writing. You can do this by:

  • Emailing us at cancel@dragqueens.co.uk
  • Please note we will not accept SMS or WhatsApp correspondence to cancel any bookings with us.

What Happens After You Cancel

Once we receive your cancellation request, we will acknowledge it by email within 48 hours.

  • Within the Cooling-Off Period: If you cancel within the 14-day cooling-off period and the booking falls under this policy (excluding corporate bookings), you will receive a full refund of the booking amount within 14 days of receiving your cancellation request.
  • Outside the Cooling-Off Period or for Exceptions:
    • Standard Bookings: We will work with you to find a suitable replacement performer, if available.
    • If a replacement is not possible, a cancellation fee may apply. This fee will be based on the effort already invested in securing the performer and the proximity to the event date.
    • The cancellation fee will be clearly communicated to you before you confirm your cancellation.
    • Corporate Bookings: For corporate bookings, a cancellation fee will apply regardless of the notice period. This fee reflects the time and resources invested in casting drag artists to meet your specific requirements. The cancellation fee will be between 10% and 20% of the original booking cost or amount paid, depending on the complexity of the booking and the advancement made in securing the talent.

Policy on Deposits, Chargebacks, and Dispute Waivers

Finality of Deposits Outside Cooling-Off Period

All service deposits paid to Drag Queens Agency (Roka Entertainment & Management Ltd) are non-refundable and constitute a non-recoverable payment used to secure the artist, time, and date for your event.

Upon the expiration of the 14-day statutory cooling-off period, or if the event date is less than 14 days away from the date of booking (whichever comes first), the deposit becomes fully earned by the Agency. This fee reflects the immediate commitment and administrative resource allocation required to hold a premium date and prevent other bookings.

Waiver of Chargeback Rights on Deposits

By proceeding with payment of the deposit and agreeing to these terms outside of the 14-day cooling-off period, the Client explicitly acknowledges and agrees to waive any right to dispute or initiate a chargeback claim (via Visa, MasterCard, or any other payment method) for the deposit amount under the following conditions:

  1. Client Cancellation: If the Client cancels the booking after the 14-day cooling-off period has expired, regardless of the time elapsed until the event date.
  2. Agency Compliance: Where Drag Queens Agency has not formally cancelled the performance or failed to supply the contracted service.

The Client understands that deposits are immediately put towards securing the contractual services. Therefore, any attempt to recover the deposit via a chargeback outside the stated 14-day window will be considered a breach of this policy, and the actions detailed under the ‘Disputed Payments and Chargebacks’ section (including administrative fees and debt collection) will apply.
